Case Sharing According to the 2025 “Investigation Report on Systemic Risks of Fraud Targeting Immigrants and Foreign Workers in Taiwan”, there are on average 500 fraud cases reported daily, 28% of which are related to fake employment agencies or fictitious job openings. Respondents indicated that they had encountered scams posing as government authorities or legitimate companies, using deceptive claims such as “job transfers”, “assistance with legal document processing”, or “introductions to high-paying jobs” to collect tens of thousands of NTD in fees. For example, a Vietnamese worker sought new job opportunities through a Facebook group. The so-called employer or agency demanded a “referral fee” ranging from NTD 20,000 to 100,000 promising to handle all necessary procedures for the job transfer. However, after receiving the payment, the agency disappeared, and the promised job turned out to be non-existent. The victim not only suffered from financial losses but also faced the risk of deportation due to engaging in an unauthorized job transfer.
